Cyrix CPU-i kno i kno they are crappy

Hey guys,

I have a quick question. Does anyone know what kind of motherboard i can use that will fit a Cyrix MMX 333 CPU. Can i use a PIII board, or AMD? I am trying to save money and keep using this proccessor on my second machine. I really dont want to put anymore money in this system. Or should i just get off my high horse and get another CPU-i know they are pretty cheap. Advice?

nope. Your processor is really old. You'd need a pentium motherboard. A super 7 probably.

You wasting $$$ and time trying to build something that old. That cpu would prolly get schooled by a P1 running a fast 166MHZ w/MMX🙂.

Those old Cyrix's ran 16-bit integer code really well. It's just their FPU that was total crap.

"hot" in those times... nothing compared to standard processors now.
