I seem to suck a lot when it comes to linux-esque things.

I got cygwin going (well i got it going a long time ago, and forgot about it) with X, openbox on top of that..

anyways, it came with lynx, but I was thinking of something more useable, like galeon or mozilla or some other gecko browser.

the thing is, i don't know how i would go about installing one of those on cygwin..
any ideas?

thanks:D

Download Mozilla for Windows and go surfing. A cygenized version of Mozilla would be silly ;).

edit: In my humble opion :).

You can set the path in windows for mozilla and then use the terminal window in cygwin to launch the browser. Kind of silly, too, but I found it convenient. I havent used openbox, but I used windowmaker and I
had added mozilla to the menu so I could launch it from wmaker.

Of course you can also use KDE on cygwin. Worked beautifully for me when I had win2k on my machine.

Dang! I haven't seen KDE on cygwin. Now I understand the question a bit better. I hadn't realized that a lot of GUI programs were ported over. I still think it would be silly to run cyginized Mozilla just because the Moz for Windows will be faster but whatever floats your boat.

I'll have to check into that KDE for cygwin a bit more... I run Slackware on my laptop so I'm pretty happy but that would be a nice option when I'm stuck on a Win2k box I can modify.

edit: Ok, I took a closer look at the KDE thing and color me unimpressed. Interesting but...
