Riders & runners, have you found anything good or weird lately? I'm putting in 225-250 miles per week right now, and in the last month or so, I keep finding things.

Here's my recent list:

*
$20 bill (Chevron station PCH & Sunset)
*Fanny pack w/Sony digital camera, credit cards & cash (PCH in Malibu)
*Over sized biker-style wallet w/credit cards, passport, no cash (San Vincente in Brentwood)
*Complete set of allen wrentches (PCH Zuma Beach area)
*Pair of Ray Bans, Raider style, excellent condition (Palisades Dr off Sunset)

I'm a stuff findin' fool.:)

I don't see the correlation between cycling and finding stuff. Hiking maybe. Last night I rode and I found nothing.

All I find are burnt out cars, old fire pits and ATV trails. :( But the outdoors is so nice :)

:D

#1 Went in my jersey pocket
#2 It was big and bulky in my jersey, so when I saw a deputy sheriff, on the side of PCH, near Pepperdine, I stopped handed it to him and said "Lost & Found" and rode off.
#3 I turned it in at the little Santa Moncia police sub-station, on the Santa Monica pier.
#4 They're in my tool box right now.
#5 They're sitting on a shelf in the kitchen.

I ride on the boulevard. No time to stop & look around. The only thing I look for are parked cars opening their doors & flatbeds.

Four out of the five things, I found on the shoulder of the road, sort of close to the curb, where cyclist spend most of their time. I should probably be riding faster, so I don't see these things. :D

I hate you. The most I ever found was 2 five dollar bills and a broken cellphone. But I do find some pretty neat stuff at garage sales on saturday mornings. Got a Digitizing Oscilloscope - practically brand new for $75 and a bunch of little stuff.

I did about 320 miles last week (a century on Sunday, and a double century the following Friday/Sat) With some minimal recovery riding in between.

I haven't really found anything, except some beautiful fall scenery. I guess thats because I haven't been riding roads that are very heavily biked... you're lucky...

Dead cat
What appeared to be a dead purebred Akita (like a 600 dollar dog, minimum)
10x14^23 dead ground squirrels.

I'd seriously pay 10 dollars to find something useful or cool instead of simply "dead"

You cover a lot of the city quickly and see more detail?

Years ago a woman left her purse on the roof of her car at a college where I was taking a class so I grabbed it and took it to campus security and left her a note on her windshield with my phone number and a message that I took her purse to campus security. She called me later and thanked me profusely for what I had done. That felt great. :D

Although ATOT is infested with fantastic liars to a degree that can only be described as legendary, Jules doesn't generally BS. I think most ATOTers would've mentioned there was 40,000 dollars inside, but they returned the purse anyway because that's what they make in 2 hours as a rocket ship tester.

I did feel like an idiot walking across campus with a woman's purse in hand.

By any chance was it the "Davis Double Century?" I rode that thing in 90', 91' 92'. Cool double, great support, some climbing. Big fun.
