cyclic redundancy error - how do i fix

after a hard drive crash last month, im putting photos back on my HD from CD's. I am getting a cyclic redundancy error in win XP. is the CD dirty scratched, What?. Please help me.
 
That error means the data cannot be read off the CD for some reason.


Have you tried cleaning the CD? Are there alot of scratches on it?
