Cyclic Redundancy Check?????

WTF is this? Its driving me crazy. Whenever I try to install a game from an image I made, it gives me this freakin error. Someone please me fix it. I've tried using alcohol 120, daemon tools, and nero image drive. None of them work.

Your game is corrupt. Get it replaced. The CRC is a method of checking to see if the data has been corrupted or not.

Simple CRC example:

If your data is

10011100011111

Then you have nine 1's which is an odd number. Your CRC value based off of nine which is "odd". If one of the zeros is changed to 1 then the CRC wouldn't match the value because it would be "even".

The real CRC is much more complex, but I think you can get the picture.

The CD is likely copy protected. Since you're installing from an image and not the original disc, I'm guessing the program didn't detect the copy protection properly and it thinks the cd is "bad."

Kris: CRC is neat until you have to do it by hand and show work! :Q

It should tell you when you get the CRC error what file is corrupt.

As for seeing if any other files are corrupt, their are hundred of CRC utilities online. Which utility will work with your specific game, i don' know.

wouldn't 2 errors cancel out then?
