CyberSync not working with my Impact strobes

Crap. I have a shoot on Tuesday, ordered CyberSyncs to be here in time. Weirdest thing, it would only fire my flashes after I manually pressed a test button on the actual flash. Called AlienBees, was informed that I needed the battery powered receiver to work with Impact flashes as opposed to the AC powered one which I had ordered. So I had to go now and order the battery powered receiver via 2nd day air and wait for my return to go through. Sucks. Would be nice for them to put on the website that some flashes will only work with the battery powered receiver.

I don't know if they only work with their strobes, but I exchanged the AC receiver for a battery powered one and it works like a charm. My only complaint is what everyone else complains about them, no mounting mechanism or lanyard ring, it has to hang from the wire. A roll of velcro solved that for me. :)

I just assumed they worked only with AB's and WL's. Let me know how it goes, I use Calumet Genesis strobes.

I had a chinese made strobe bought from Ebay and the battery powered would not trigger it. The Cybersync works fine with my Norman Power Packs and Calumet Travellite monolight though.

yeah, it is a pain w/o any mounting hardware. I use a couple of ball bungees, but I will probably do velcro instead.
