For those of you into gaming laptops and are familiar with sites like iBuyPower and BTOTech might have noticed CyberPowerPC unvailing a new line of gaming laptops lately: The FangBook 17.3" gaming laptop series.

Many of you will note there was already a FangBook available from CyberPowerPC for quite some time: The Tapian III, but this was your only choice and with dual 670GTXs it was over $1800 and that is simply outrageous for most people.

Now CyberPowerPC has released a full 3-choice lineup FangBook series, the X7 Powerhouse Series. Your choices are the X7-100, X7-200, and X7-300 with relatively reasonable prices on all levels for what you get:

100 - $1300
200 - $1500
300 - $1800

X7-200: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Fangbook_X7-200
X7-300: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Fangbook_X7-300

All of the FangBooks now come STANDARD with the NVIDIA 675MX (The second fastest GPU available for notebooks) except the rediculously overpowered X7-300 witch has the mac-daddy 680GTX. All FangBooks also have upgraded Killer Wireless-N Wifi cards as STANDARD and the 200 and 300 series have Solid State Drives included STANDARD.

I am posting this because I am looking into a new laptop soon (within a month or so) and I do want it gaming capable because I love Hawken, StarCraft II, Nexius, Kerbal Space Program, Unreal Tourtament, and Console Emulators as well as a few others, and want to max them out in HD.

I personally really like this new line of laptops and was wondering if there was something similar to the 200 Series I built on their site which stock came with everything I wanted except for two upgrades:

Windows 8 - Windows 8 Pro
SanDisk 64GB SSD - Intel 520 60GB SSD (MUCH Faster Read/Write Speeds)
(Any FREE Upgrades Available) LOL

TOTAL comes to: $1565

I wanted to know if you guys thought this was a good build/purchase or if I should look into something else.

I built a Fangbook on CyberPower and a Clevo on XoticPC w/ as similar specs as possible, and the Fangbook was almost $200 less.

I have a year old NP8150, but my next laptop might be a Fangbook.

I'm keeping my eye on these for the time being... My HP dv6 is overheating and throttling like a mofo (cleaned, thermal pasted, fan replaced, and shimmed recently with little results) and the stability is quickly going downhill. Unfortunately I won't make a trip back to the states until the end of April, so I guess I have some time to see how well these systems review.

Ouch yea it sounds like an entire replacement is what you will be needing soon. Otherwise an entire new thermal detector setup or motherboard may be necessary and nobody wants to do that in a laptop, not to mention its quite expensive...

Nice. Undecided if I'll be getting a desktop or laptop but this will be in the running.
