Should I get a NIC card or use the onboard one ?
Do I need a Thermal paste or not ?

Thanks for all replies.

onboard sound should be fine, especially if you're using headphones. same with the onboard ethernet.

as for thermal paste, the hsf will come with some paste anyways, so you probably shouldn't be worried about it.

overall, looks good to me.

i'm almost positive all new motherboards have a separate sound processor, but the load on the cpu will be very light.

CyberPower sucks. I bought a computer from them a year ago and had to send it back. When I recieved the pc it didn't even start up. Then their customer support was complete crap. I would have messed with it myself but that would made the warranty void. I suggest you just save yourself a huge hassle and build your own. I lost about 300$ on them.

Reading through reseller ratings, they seem to have a good number of unsatisfied customers. They all say the same thing really...cyberpowersystems claims to test their systems out but they arrive with things loose, unplugged, broken, etc. They have little to no tech support or customer service when you complain about it. You should build it

Actually its true... I also bought this computer that im still using about 2 years ago from Cyberpower... and i remember that i had to plug the hard disc cable by myself... because it was loose.... but other than that they give a 3 year warranty, so every time my modem or mouse died... i'd get a free one from them... and yeah customer service is not the best... maybe it does kinda suck.
They got very good prices though thats what made me happy... didnt know how to build my own at that time...
If u know how to build ur own... i'd say forget about cyberpower.

Looks good. Personally I'd stay away from the Sony stuff, as I'd want my components to actually work ;) I'd also probably go with a mid-range Antec case with an included ~400w psu, that way you're saving money and getting a quality case. Read up on those Aspires, they're garbage.

Is there a particular reason why you want a case with a PSU included, as well as a separate PSU?

I'm going for a Cooler Master Stacker when I'm getting some new stuff later on :)

I also had problems with cyberpower. I would not reccommend them. I bought a gaming pc for school 2 years ago. When it arrived it didn't work, the hard drive cable was loose. I had to install the OS myself. The evga nvidia gforce4 ti4400 video card would provide video to my monitor, but any game I would try to play would freeze up. One of the maxtor drives I got went bad. The amd 2200+ died. The psu capicitors exploded. The gigabyte board went bad. But, it did work on and off for 2 years, lol. The customer service is horrendous, don't even try the tech support. The only positive thing I could say is that the "major brand" RAM was Kingston value RAM. Seriously, avoid them and build your own. Thank God mine got killed in a power surge and my insurance company is replacing it. (No not all the problems occured after the power surge).
