I found something pretty bizarre recently. I am still going back and forth of the headache or frustration of trying to build my own system for the first time or buying from a reseller like ABS or Cyberpower? Anyway while looking up company info on reseller ratings I found a couple of very odd things, seemed fishy to me?

I found this company that looked fairly solid: RR Cyberpower PC?

Their website is listed as: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com.. this link redirects to: http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/? Kind of strange

There is also this company that pops up in resllerratings which appears to suck:Cyberpower Inc?

Their webiste is listed as: http://www.cyberpowerinc.com

This poorly rated company's web site looks identical to the other company? What is the deal here? Does anyone know if these are the same companies somehow covering up their poor ratings?

Kind of scary..... We need an investigative reporter on anandtech :)

May be the same company with multiple websites.
I remember one inkjet refill company had 184 different websites.

Wow..... what's the deal with that? Why would they have multiple web sites??? Just seems a bit odd to me.

I think you said it best.

As for the website thing, I think Macro2 probably hit the head on the nail and it's the same company with multiple sites.

I wnet through teh same thing. Cyberpower just seemed a bit wacky to me. The two company's I came down to were ABS and Monarch Computer Systems.. Both solid companies. I went with Monarch because their selection is a hair broader. I am very satisfied regardless, but doubt you could go wrong with either company.

I'll check them out.... I like the ABS systems... they are kind of limited... (I may still build my own :p ) Cyberpower had a case I liked so I thought I'd check them out. Turns out they're cheap but I'm not sure if they're a "reliable" company with what I mentioned above.

I guess the company must be OK? Just some odd info popping up at reseller ratings. Gotta listen to the Diamond & Lifer Members :)

CyberPower inc shipped me a broken computer. But not just slightly broken, I'm talking totally broken. I have been trying for SIX WEEKS to get replacement parts, and I have left one telephone message per day requesting to hear from a supervisor - not one time have my calls been returned.

1. The hard drive, where the cables connect to it, looked like it had been thrown on the floor.

2. The neon light bulb (not very important, but paid for) is shattered right down the middle.

3. The cabling looks like it was done by a five-year old. The cables are tie-wrapped to each other in a giant spider-web, and most of the connectors are being held together with scotch tape!

4. More on the wiring, there are some male connectors on the motherboard, but they were apparently out of the correct female-side harnesses, so they used harnesses that don't even fit, and they used scotch tape to hold them on too (which didn't work). So now my fans don't register on the digital display.

Ten days ago I sent another e-mail to CyberPower's customer support, their sales center, tech support, and a supervisor's address letting them know that I am furious at their pitiful customer support and a list of the broken parts.

Monday I will file a report with the Better Business Bureau.

I will NEVER EVER EVER do business with them again. Avoid this company at all costs.
