Hey guys, wondering if anyone else has had this issue with Cyberlink's product. I purchased a boxed copy of the PowerDVD Platinum software at CompUSA for $69. Took it home and installed it, and noticed that I had no audio options for Dolby Digital output. The only outputs enabled are their proprietary CLMEI or whatever it is called.

I sent a tech query on their website, and received a reply a day or so later, that sounded pretty generic, i.e.: rest assured our product supports Dolby output, please reinstall the whole thing, clean out the registry, reinstall your video and audio drivers, sweep out the garage, and feed the cat.

I did everything but the last two.

Still no options in the advanced audio settings for Dolby Digital output. I have an Audigy 2 ZS, by the way, rig in sig. In the response they had asked that if this all didn't work I send them a few files, dxdiag.txt, their cdlma.log, my marriage license, whatever. I sent all that in email to powerdvd@gocyberlink.com as requested, with an explanation, and the original query and response numbers. That was a week ago and I have had no response.

Has anyone else run into this?

Hey Markbnj, I noticed the same thing with PowerDVD 6.0. In the audio options, it only shows stereo 2.0 output, but no 5.1 channel output. That really irritated me because I like PowerDVD more than WinDVD right now. You're not the only one in this boat.

No problem. Good luck man. I'd recommend finding a good dolby digital decoder. That'd probably be your best best.

Yeah. WinDVD is good, but i prefer PowerDVD's interface. But their decoders are great. So if you don't mind trying that, give it a try.
