I think this is one hell of system if you have a large house hold. This system will allow for you to be very very geeky with the way calls are handled in the house.

5 Handsets means 1 for you. 1 for your spouse. 1 or 2 or hell even 3 for the kid(s).

Or. As the site tells us :

The Cygnion CyberGenie cordless 2.4 GHz PC phone system is the substitute for a personal assistant for home office or small office managers. The Cygnion CyberGenie goes beyond other expandable 2.4 GHz phone systems because it integrates with your PC to manage all your communications.

It recognizes voice commands through patented speech recognition software and handles calls, faxes, and e-mail messages and routes them directly to your handset without requiring complicated wiring.

Equipped with caller ID, the Cygnion CyberGenie also lets you know who's calling before you pick up the line, so you can take the call or let it go to voice mail.

----

If it does call routing you can do something like.

Press 1 for Joey, press 2 for Jessica, Press 3 for Timmy, Press 4 for Chelsea. Press 5 John.

And it would be routed to their cordless phone.

This system is kinda neat if you hook it up to a computer and leave it running all the time. Other than that it sucks, sound quality is horrible. I think my handset finally broke on mine and I was glad to get rid of it and get a 900mhz system.

Ditto. Sound quality is horrible, and this company (a venture of Ericcson) is long out of business. Many of us picked these up super cheap a year or two back when there were fire sales at the office stores. A neat toy at first, but after awhile it becomes clear why the company failed.

sound quality is excelent...... some peoples rare cases of clickin tracked down to usb cable for most people...... (me i've never had the problem) (replacing it (usb cable) with a good ferite one got rid of most peoples clicks) those that it didnt probably have too grand an ambition of mixing 2.4ghz devices...... (ie wireless lan and wireless audio/video x10 etc) ps- wireless lan cooperates with it x10 not so kind.

i use 5 of the phones..... and the sound is better than the landlines i have and a few 900mhz and 2ghz phones i have tried......

i dont use the thing for readin my email to me...... but i like the phone log and easy voice activation/import of any outlook contacts... especially great for sayin-

"call joe scmoo's cell phone number" or "call joe scmoo's home number" etc... :)

I also had this system for a yr. or so. I enjoyed it and had no probs at all, the voice reconition was kida cool.:) It is feature rich and wasnt that hard to get it going. When I used it there was a D/L update to make it fully XP compatible. NICE PHONE;)
