Info about CyberRebate: Some people are wondering why I haven't been posting CyberRebate on this site, with a lot of stuff for free after rebate. Why? Because CyberRebate is no longer a hot deal. The risk involved in paying so much money up-front for surplus merchandise is usually not worth it. Last year, there were a lot of good items at around $100 before rebate, and were free after rebate. Now they jacked their prices up SO high, that there's much more risk involved. You need to ask yourself, if you never receive your rebate, are you willing to pay that price for the item(s)? When it comes to CyberRebate, the answer is usually no.

Here's one person who was told that he will not receive his $600 rebate.

Anyways, I do get tons of emails from people asking me to check out CyberRebate, but please understand that they are not a hot deal.

Update (6pm): It looks like the State of NY has sued CyberRebate before for not fulfilling rebates. Here is an article. Also, here's a listing of problems with CyberRebate.

mrCide - great post:) I've always got bad vibes from CR and never ordered from them... I hope that those folks who sent in those rebates do get their money back... $700.00 for a 'gameboy!' How could you live that one down?

Die CyberRebate! Die!!!

I don't see the problem here.

When submitting a rebate, one should pay extra attention to making sure the rebate is properly submitted. This is common sense.

If you read the attached correspondence to the link above, Cyberrebate is allowing him to resubmit his copies of the rebate, and they WILL then honor it. So what's the problem? If he does not have copies, then he's simply a FOOL.

I ordered from them last year when their prices were only twice the retail value. Got all my rebates okay.

I have to admit that with their prices now I won't order from them.
