Their customer "support" staff is a bunch of dicks. I called in and asked them why my computer hasn't been shipped yet. The response I recieve is that they don't have the 6800U in stock. Okay, fair enough, except why the hell did you tell me it should have shipped already? Why did you lead me to believe you have all parts in stock? Can I have a revised ship date? No?
Apparently the 6800U isn't released yet. No that isn't true, I say, because I know people who have it (this is mid-June). They tell me that I need to wait two weeks because by then they'll have their allocation of cards. Four weeks go by and I call again. They tell me that they don't have the cards yet. I ask them if they can revise my shipment date again and I demand it to be accurate this time. The lady who is helping me (who I don't particularly care for due to her cheeky attitude) says "4-6 weeks."
They act like they don't care about you and they will say things that nobody ever should say to a customer: "if you don't like it you can take your money elsewhere." Real smooth.
I'm being patient and letting it ride on though - hopefully I'll get my computer in a few weeks (I heard some 6800U's were being sent out to various merchants on the 21st or 22nd from a little birdie). Their prices are very hard to beat anywhere else; if I wasn't saving a couple hundred I'd have left them long ago. If, however, there is no change within the next week or two I'm gone.
I checked opinions on these guys and it varies wildly. Either people are extremely happy with the prices and claim their components are all very high quality or they bitch loudly about the dead-on-arrival condition of their orders and the shoddy-at-best customer support. If I do get my computer in and it doesn't work I'm going to nuke their corporate office (not really but my face will be redder than the guy in my avatar over there).
In short, if you think you wanna risk it dive in - the water can be fine at times. My friend got his notebook right on time and it apparently works great from them. The water can also be extremely choppy and full of asshats under the guise of customer support techs. Up to you; the prices are nice though.
