Meh, I ran RC2 on my EVO, gave up, the killer was when the GPS kept loosing a lock on the satellites, I don't want to even tempt that again, what a PITA.

Lots has changed between RC2 and Final. Just flashed 6.1 Final to my Droid 1, still putting things back the way I like them. Can't quite get ADW the way I most prefer it, like I can with LP. Oh well, not a deal breaker. Still hunting for the perfect 800Mhz-1Ghz ulow voltage kernel. jdlfg's continue to half issues with the WiFi dropping for me, Slayher's are just odd. P3droid's are nice, but I have similar intermittent issues with the WiFi dropping like I do with jdlfg's. Trying ChevyNo1's 1GHz ulow kernel now, but no Interactive governor on it. :/

The GPS takes a long time to lock which is the only downside to CM6 I've had. I can see it being a deal breaker if you use the GPS a lot.

I just got VirusROM set up like I like it on my EVO, now do I want to trash it and try CM again? I have tried since 6.1 first came out. All the market issues made me drop. I know those have been resolved but I don't know if I want to give up all of sense or not.....

You can't snap a back up on an Evo?

Lockscreen gestures are pretty handy.

Been messing with it off and on today, no problems so far.

Just got my EVO, have it rooted but have yet to flash a custom ROM. I guess this is as good as any to start with?

It's good, but I'd say try out others too. UD's my favorite and definitely worth checking out.

UD is a direct port of CM with a black skin where the 'developer' claims credit for other people's work.

Cruise the XDA Evo 4G boards for builds for the Evo. CM is good, but to my knowledge, there's still no support for WiMAX. If you live in an area with WiMAX coverage, might be not be such a good idea to run CM.

That was ages ago, with The Ultimate Droid 1.0 the code was totally re-written. He's up to 2.3.0 now with all original code he did himself. And even when it wasn't original code it was far more than a black skin.

Funny thing is I forgot all about trying 4G because of the battery issues associated with what I assumed would be a sucky signal since I'm not actually in a big city (about 20-30 minutes outside of Nashville). Just turned it on to see... full signal and holy shit it's fast. Forget CM for now I guess. ;)

Admittedly, I haven't been following Blackdroid for a while, since he got himself kicked from some of the most reputable dev sites after taking the CM source code from their repository and calling its improvements his own, even taking credit for features created by Google. But, the original Eclair UD as well as the early Froyo builds were nothing more than CM with a black skin.

Been running the nightlies for a while now, it's been solid until about a week ago the messaging unlock button stopped working. I'm installing the regular 6.1 now.
