My problem with Cyanogen was after exiting any program that was half way intensive, just about every widget would have to reload back on to the desktop. And it was sluggish or unresponsive for several seconds as well.
I could have been using chevyno1's kernels, which IIRC, weren't meant for Cyanogen.

ADW with CM6.0x seems to get more sluggish with time, for some reason. It was almost unbearable tonight, ended up installing Launcher Pro. There are features I like from both, but I really miss ADW's hot bars. Keeps my home screens clean and several important apps at the ready.

I got the same exact issue with CM6+ADW. But it's not exclusive to CM6.0x, went to BB.04 then to LauncherPro. Snappy for about three days. Then the same happened. Went to shit. Went to ADW.Launcher, seems better...for now.
It seems any of these launchers go to shit after a few days, no matter what ROM.
ADW is slow period . . .
