Oh, I hated the CVT in the Five Hundred and Caliber, they drove so terribly compared to others I have driven.
That's why it's important to test drive the vehicles you're interested in and decide for yourself. I drive a 2008 Nissan Rogue AWD w/ CVT and I average 27+mpg in the summer (85% highway) which is better than the EPA rating, even better than a Honda CR-V and I couldn't be happier.
