CVS Repository automation and tweaking:

Hi, I've been working with some java development and I've noticed that its often very difficult to track what has been checked out or in, when and by who, leading to unfortunate overlapping or perhaps learding to some updated ears being forgotten about when updating the head.

I have done some reading on this and have seen that there are Perl scripts that offer more automation and help with this issue. I was wondering if any of you had any expertise with such add-ons and what you would reccomend. Should we write our own Perl scripts and run them? Or is there a better option?

What do you guys think?

oh wow, there's a forum for that too. my bad, couldnt see the "programming" thing on the left side.

Yea, we've been nagging for a dedicated programming forum for awhile. But it hasn't happened yet, so we're stuck wading through all the gaming threads.
