My buddy has been trying to sleeve his PSU, and was wanting to cut off the end of one strand. He wants to cut off the end with the floppy power connector, because there is two on his PSU... I wasn't sure what to tell him. Would this kill his PSU?

Won't cause any problems at all. It won't hurt a thing (if you cut it when the PSU is off, so it doesn't short while being cut). Just make sure that there is no copper showing, so that it won't hit something inside the case, and cause a short.
