Rinse your eyes with water.

My advice to you is to not pick your nose or masturbate for two days.

pvssies ;) j/k

Seriously though, I cut normal chilies without any protection, and regulary too. The only problem is not touching yourself anywhere, because otherwise you're eff'd pretty much.

And gloves are a major hinderance when cutting, especially when cutting in small proportions. There must be a better solution.

when i was in mexico one time, some friends and i dared each other to eat some of the legendary habaneros. we went into a grocery store, found an entire open bar of different peppers, and each grabbed a habanero. went to a secluded aisle, and started munching. surprisingly tasty, not unbearably hot, we were looking kind of disappointedly at each other.

Then one of my friends licked a seed.

We followed suit.

2 minutes later, near tears, we finally found the milk section and started guzzling from the bottle.

I'm pretty sure the cashier must have thought we were nuts when we came to the register with 4 empty bottles of milk and 4 half eaten peppers and paid for them.

Ah, and to answer the OP's question. I remember touching my eyelid or something after I had eaten the peppers, and it burned pretty bad. For some reason smearing the milk on the skin helped a lot, don't know if there was some neutralization going on from the a/b reaction, or maybe just the numbing effect from the difference in temperature.

At least you didn't scratch your balls. I did that after my first try of a habenero pepper and was literally crying for 2-3 hours. Nothing stopped the pain.... NOTHING but time.

I don't know about face and eyes. You could try flushing it with water, but water just spreads the pain.

I learned my lesson the hard way when I was young. I tried cutting dried peppers for nachos. Then I suddenly had to take a leak, badly. You can figure out the rest and how my next two hours curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor went.

nothing really......the chemical in the hot peppers releases a polypeptide at the synapse of your neuron, it's called substance P actually, (the p stands for pain, no lie).....there's not much polypeptide in each presynaptic neuron, but the problem is, once you start the release of it, you can't stop it. It goes until the supply is exhausted....it also takes a while to synthesize, so once you're out of it, it's gone for a while...that's partially why once you've had the burning sensation for a while, it goes away, and doesn't come back no matter how many peppers you eat or rub on your eye.

Ummm yea. So after the pain goes away, try rubbing some more on your body. I promise you'll feel no more burning.... muhahaha!

well, you might not be able to do anything about the pain she's experiencing now, but at least get her eyes rinsed off to clear off any oils or residue that might be on the irises. Just tell her to keep her eyes open under the faucet for a good minute or two.

Have your girlfriend stand in the shower and keep constant water flow on the eye until the pain subsides.
It works for pepper spray to the face.
