*Cutting* extra PSU cables to clear space???

Is this a good idea? I just finished building my new rig, but it seems a bit jumbled inside. I would like it a little bit cleaner in there. I went ahead and rounded my cables using the lazy mans no cutting trick, but there are so many PSU power cables that aren't needed, I was thinking of maybe cutting them.

Has anyone ever done this? And what's the safe way of doing it?

Haven't set a signature yet so here's my system:

AMD T-Bird 1.33
Taisol 760 w/ Delta 30cfm
Epox 8k7a
Lian Li PC60
Enermax Whisper 350W
Visiontek Geforce 3
Crucial 512MB
IBM Deskstar 40GB
Plextor 10x DVD
Iomega 12x10x32
Floppy Drive

Even if you could find how to do this safely, I wouldn't recommend it.

You never know what kinda expansion you might itch for in a year. I'd say just get some zip ties and bundle them off to the side. They'll be there if you might need them later.

I wouldn't bother cutting them. Just get some plastic cable ties and clamp them to your other PS wires.

You never know when you're gonna want to upgrade again 🙂

cut away, one at a time and insulate each one as you go. But I think it's a bad idea because when you reattach them they get bulky, unless you have alot of patience.
