Cute FTP uploading in Win2K

I have a new computer with Windows 2000 and I am having trouble uploading files using Cute FTP. Whenever I go to upload a file, Cute FTP says the file was uploaded successfully, but a zero-byte file ends up at the destination instead of the whole file. Is this a known problem? Is there a simple solution? Thanks.

what version of cute? i use 3.5.3 and have no problems.
