Why would you want to do that when you can just use molex splitters to add more molex connectors with the existing ones? I use multiple molex splitters to power 4 drives from a single molex connectors. A typical splitter consists of one male connector which connects to an existing female connector from the PSU and terminates with two female molex connectors for use on drives. But my multiple connector splitter provides 4 female molex from a singe connection.

The red & yellow cables are easy, but what about the 2 black ones ?

I guess just follow the black leads and match accordingly to the psu ?

Yes. I've done heavy modification to my PSUs in my system, and I've never had problems with not keeping track of which black goes where. I've heard debate about which is which, but I know electrically there is no difference.

Do you already have the tools for the project? If not, I can send you the link to some that work very well. I've created molex extensions extending off of my secondary PSUs 8-pin & 6-pin power cables, as well as off of the 24-pin connector.

Good luck on your project!

Black = ground. If you wanted you could ground them to your case or a lightning rod, it doesn't really matter.

Got the pin extraction tool.

One of the main reasons to do this is to have less cable clutter.

I did note that the sata cables from the power supply have 5 cables (yellow, 2 - black, red & orange)

What's the orange one for ?

Thanks everyone.

Jose
