Customizing WinXP Installation CD

Hi all,
Just wondering about something. I'm thinking about making my own customized version of Windows XP. What I mean is that when WinXP finishes installing, I'd want new version of DirectX, Divx codecs, Winamp/WMP and/or other programs installed. I'm talking something like recovery disks provided from OEM when we buy pre-configured computers (e.g. Dell, Gateway), they usually have MS Works and/or their propietary softwares installed the first time. I searched around and found a couple websites of ehem...doubtful integrity that has the service packs and all the goodies I mentioned above. Is there software anyway to do it or a good guide that tells me how to do it? For your info, I've succeeded in slipstreaming my WinXP installation CD to that of SP2. I just need it to customize it further.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. ^^

ActuaryTm,
I read all the descriptions of the softwares that you mentioned, but they only integrated SPs and hotfixes. I'm talking more like OEM implementations. I suppose it can only be done by imaging solutions like Ghost, eh?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Again as mentioned above, you may want to read through the last two URLs provided.

Specifically, begin here, which is contained within "Part II" of the unattended installation guide mentioned above.

For further information, the final page of the guide above (here) mentions the unattended section of MSFN. Would suggest briefly reviewing the "Beginning Users" section prior to proceeding to the latter sections where applications are covered in-depth.

Unattended installations are not a new concept. There are a host of applications and guides to help streamline the process.
