Customizing resolutions on Radeon???

I have a Radeon AIW and a 32MB DDR card, but there are not enough standard resolutions for this card! I had a 3dfx 5500 and there were a lot more choices available. For instance I would like 1280x960 and have tried Powerstrip but to no avail. Is there anyway you can customize the standard resolutions? I though there might be some sort of reg hack or utility that would allow me to do this. 1280x960 is a std resolution on some cards and my monitor will support it. BTW I am running Win2k. Thanks!

You can download a Radeon tweaker program from the link at this thread which allows you to enable the 1280x960 resolution, at least for windows 98, not sure if it works on win2k.

Thanks for the tip Comp10, but 1280x960 isnt enabled on the Radtweak.exe I downloaded from that thread. It only lets you specify refresh rates, and just to be sure I tried it on my 98 box with the AIW. Same deal..thanks anyway, cool little utility!

There should be a button on the bottom of the program that should say make 1280x960 resoultion available/adjust refresh rate. You need to push the button and it will ask you to set a refresh rate, enter your desired refresh rate, then you need to reboot. After that you should be able to select the 1280x960 resolution like normal from the windows display properties settings page. It does work for at least windows 98SE, because i'm using that resolution right now as I write this 😉.
