Hey guys,
I have an M6805 and although I like the sleek design, I want to customize it just so I can differentiate mine from the rest :). Err, nothing incredibly detailed. I was hoping somebody could suggest a "safe" paint (something that's not electrically conductive and that won't make the keys stick and won't peel) and where I could purchase these. Furthermore, if someone knew where I could get Logos etc. (metallic logos I could maybe stick on like the pretty looking "e" on my case ;) ). I want to see how far I can take this without getting too crazy.

Why not just stick a unique sticker logo or something? Painting a notebook sounds dangerous.

I have read somewhere of someone dismanteling there lappy and taking it to an autobody shop and havin them paint it. Which gives you lots of color choices. Just an idea....

Yeah painting is involved but I think it would be worth it to see my 6805 in shiny jet black :). Actually, in the short term, I wanted to replace the "e" logo on the machine with a cooler logo. Not that I don't like emachines but I figure the logo could be better. Anybody know if it can be pulled out/replaced and if so, where I could get new custom logos?

I dont know if you can pull it out; maybe you should just put the logo over it?
The emachines logo is a depression (lower than the surface), so that would definitely make it easier.

yeah it's very slightly depressed but it'd just be cool if I could remove it outright. In either case, I can't make a cool metal logo since I don't really have access to any metalworking machines. ::sigh:: I wish someone would make custom logos for this like that guy over at notebookforums makes for sagers. That and I personally don't like this curved silver portion at the bottom of the cover. Always bugged me. I wish they had just made the whole top (lcd cover) one solid color. It would've looked a lot better. There's something to be said for simplicity in design. Oh well. I'll have to see what I can do as far as customizing this baby :)
