I love having clean wires but my p180 makes having my wires neatly arranged nearly impossible due to the location of the PSU.

This weekend I would like to extend a couple of wires. I bought ATX extension a while ago and I'm going to extend it so I can run it behind the motherboard. What type of wire should I buy? I already have the heat-shrink.

Thanks!

Be surprised what will actually fit behind a motherboard tray.....ought to buy one extension and see how it works. They're cheap enough. Performance PC's and Frozen CPU both sell a wide selection of extenders.

Oh I do have the extenders and I've tried before. The P180 has very little room behind the the motherboard tray.

The longer the wire the more loss in voltage so I would go up one size if you extend it and that should make up for any losses. I would go with AWG 12 wire. Even better would be to solder the connections between the two wires. What I like to do is cut the PSU wires in half. Attach my wire to make it longer, solder both ends of the jumper wire and cover with heat shrink. It is extremely neat and professional looking.
