I want to get a customised licence plate for my motorcycle. However I dont have it as yet. And I am afraid someone would take it before I get around to getting it.

Is there a way I can reserve the plate and transfer it to the bike. A customised plate is teritorrial property.. you own it.

By the way I wanted "AlphaQ" and its variants and its already taken. :|

You could go to the DMV. I know someone who has a customized plate and they said it wasn't too hard. Then again, the DMV is the most f'ed up place in the world so who knows what might happen.

remember just about every permutation of every word has been taken already. I brought a list of like 20, and they were all taken or forbidden according to the lady.

it was like $35/year Extra for custom plate!

Since the purpose of the license plate is to document a registered vehicle, I don't know how you can get a plate without a vehicle. You have to supply the make/model and VIN of the vehicle you're registering when you request a plate.

And just to clarify, at least in PA a personalized plate isn't permanent property. If your plate is lost/stolen, you can't get a replacement. They give you a different plate.
