Customers getting shafted by incompetent employees.

A friend of mine went to check out a 9800 pro at Circuit City. One of the employees there told him not to get the card b/c "you have a 2ghz AMD which are not meant for gaming. so you'll be wasting your money." What urks me is that he was saying nonsense and it wasn't for the benefit of the sale... the employee believed what he was telling my friend was helpful information.

Beside the fact that consumers should know the facts before the go purhasing products, can they do anything proactive if they think they are being mislead? Can the employee get reported for giving out wrong/misleading information?

The guy works at Circuit City, what do you expect? Probably thinks the more RAM on the video card the more powerful it is, too.

Yeah, that bothers me. When I show them specs of some computers online, they ask how much ram does the video card have instead of asking what video card it is. From there they judge its power.
