I work as a carpet installer, usually on a nearby army base. The living quarters have running water and electricity, but no toilet paper! Usually my boss isn't around so I can do as I please as long as the work gets done.

So it started Friday when my boss told me that I wouldn't be working Monday, but Tuesday was on. He would fill me in on where to go for the job on Monday night. Monday night rolls around and no call from him. I figure he'll call in the morning on Tuesday.

I get up nice and early at 7:30 on Tuesday, ready to work. I wait...and wait...and wait. For the call. I page him around 11:30 AND he doesn't return it. I'm fairly irritated so I go about my day doing whatever it was I did yesterday. So he doesn't call me until 4:30 yesterday, letting me know where I was to go today.

I awoke this morning at 9, barely managing to get into work at 10. So I made it to the job and realized I was out of TP. At this point, I figured the job wasn't that pressing or he would've had me work the day b4, and I went off the base and to the store. All in all this took about 40 minutes.

Got back and started setting up for work and the one who pays me drives up. He comes in and wants to know why I'm not further along. I tell him I ran out of toilet paper. As he walks down the hall to make sure nothing's done, I hear him say, "Bad!" like I'm a bad slave. Or a dog.

So I told him I wasn't feeling well and couldn't work today. What would you have done?

I have heard of an old saying:

The customer is always right should be:

the customer is usually full of crap, wanting something for nothing.
