I had just gotten off work, so I was moderately tired and hungry.
My girlfriend picked me up from my house right after I got there, and we were going to go run some errands or something. Our first stop was at the bank (it is located inside of a Fred Meyer). We go in there, and the service is horrible--there are only two women working, and one of them looks like she's just chatting away with customers. I'm a tiny bit annoyed, but stuff like that normally doesn't bother me much.
When it's finally our turn to get up front, the [other] lady who is helping us immediately appologizes for the wait, and asks how she can help.
My girlfriend deposits some money and whatever else she had to do, then asks the women (who is an intern) a simple question about stopping a check. After they talk for a couple minutes, I can see the conversation beginning to drift off into a "chat". It at that point had lost all real substance and was beginning to go in circles. I look behind me, notice that these people have been waiting for about 15 minutes, and politely say to both of them: "Hey, maybe we should get going, they've all been waiting a while".
They both look at me like I have lost my mind; the woman behind the counter begins acting like a complete b!tch saying something to the effect of, "Um, excuse me, we were not done talking. She asked me a question, and I had an answer, but you wouldn't let me finish speaking". Then, of course, my girlfriend attacks me too in a similar fashion.
I have never been so angry at someone who's job is customer service. I know I was tired and hungry, but it is that woman's job to be polite and courteous.. I just found it so frustrating that when I was trying to help out other people, I'm the one who get attacked for it.
I yelled at my girlfriend for it and she understands.
Have you ever had that moment where you knew things probably wouldn't work out forever? I think I just did.
