Lenovo: I called their 800 number, was routed immediately to a live person at "Remote support in Atlanta, GA". Described my problem, they DHL'd overnight an empty box to my house to send my laptop back in. Got the box, repacked it, called DHL on Friday at 4 PM, they said that they could pick it up. They called me back at 530, couldn't find my house..eventually they must have found it cause the box was gone (I was a little worried). I thought that it would get to them on Monday. I was told 3-5 business days.. but the fixed computer was delievered by the DHL guy this morning at 11:30 AM. Replaced the keyboard, fixed the latch and some other minor problems I was having.

On the other hand..I'm simply trying to get 3 out of 5 missing flights from a Turkish Airways itinerary posted on US Airways (their partner airline). I called them to ask about it, they asked me to fax in the documentation, which I did on May 26. First I got an email a week later asking me to mail the information in..I called them last Monday and they said it was under investagation and then it would be sorted out by Thursday. Called them back again today, waited on hold, talked with the rep, who said the miles had already been posted on another airline?? he called Turkish Airways who told them I had no account with them..now its back into the management team..argh

If they are overnighting boxes to ship back RMA's, I don't see that model working long unless you paid in trade on the buy in.

I'm to a point now where I'd rather pay a little more for great service, then save a few bucks by going with the cheaper company. I think overall customer service has gotten better over the past 10 years or so, but there is still much work to be done.

Look at companies who have service as their priority and more often then not, they are the most successful in their given industry.

While you and I might prefer a little more customer service, most people don't really care, they just want the cheap price.
