Customer satisfaction hits all-time high

Customer satisfaction among American consumers for a wide range of goods and services reached an all-time high at the end of 2006, according to a survey of consumers published Tuesday.

The University of Michigan's American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) increased to an overall 74.9 score out of 100 in the fourth quarter of 2006, its highest level since the survey first started in 1994. That's a gain of almost 2 percent from the previous year and a 0.7 increase from the previous quart

Interesting stuff really. I was pretty surprised to see this. I'm not really sure what to make of this data...except for the fact that businesses are doing a better job catering to people's needs.

I must be buying the wrong stuff. I recently bought 2 crappy monitors from Dell that had the "good" panels swapped out for junk panels and stuff I bought at the GAP has shrunk already and its only a week old. I have GAP stuff from 10 years ago I can still wear but with new things the buttons pop off things now in a month and the sizes don't match anymore. A large is now small and even smaller after it gets washed. I could now go on about Sony or my Ford but I'll quit while I am behind. NEC and Canon were good to me this year but I am not happy over all.

i think you can attribute that to the miracle of cross-cultural trade. a size large shirt made in the orient for an oriental person with oriental proportions will not fit the same on others of differing ethnic backgrounds. how effectively that quirk has been taken care of is the product of your consternation in that regard. 😉

Some how I don't really believe this. Not that I think that it's a lie but everyone can do thieir statististics differently. I remember last year at Home Depot I bought a door crosshead (door molding) and they had to order it 3 times before they got it right. I complained to customer service for compensation and never got it. With Ebay I never have had any problems.

What did you expect with college educated people reduced to doing service sector jobs?

It doesn't take rocket science, oh wait apparently it does. 😕

So what your saying is that college education or college educated people are more sevice providing (less prone to make mistakes) etc.
