Here's the deal,

My girlfriend got a nice new job as a sales person.
She manages 150+ Customers in her new job and need some kind of database where she can enter the Comapny name, customer name, customer ID, ( basicle the customer number), Phone number. I guess thats all she need to entry. Is there an app that will do this locally? I cant think of one and couldnt really find some either.

I tried searching the forums and sourceforge but to no avail, so now I turn to you instead.

Anyone that know of sime kind of application that will do this please reply with a link.
Application should prefereably be free.

Thanks in advance.

You can use notepad for a short term solution until you do find something, comma delimited or space delimited files can be made and then you can just import it into database

Problem is neither she or I are that good in excel, its a possibillity. IF someone could just describe how to link cells to different columns we might try using excel. We tried using the excel help but that doesnt really help us.

We want to have a drop down menu, where we can choose Company, when company is chosen we want to have another drop box where we can select the contact person for that company. When contact person is chosen we want phone number, customer ID and other relevant information to be displayed underneath.

How hard is that to do in excel? Is there are simpler way doing it? All feedback are appreciated.

If you are unable to program a simple Form in Access or use Excel Search feature and/or macros, buy it.

Estimated cost would be around $10-50+ for a simple contact manager commercial package.

Go down to the local Best Buy/CompUSA or browse Amazon for Software/Contact.

A free lance programmer may be willing to throw something together for you for a few $$.

ACT is the best customer database I've seen, we use it at work, but it's not free.

Other option is see if you know anyone that programs in Clarion(doubtful), as it's the fastest IDE with creating database applications. I could throw one together in a week, if I still programmed in it.
