Custom Water loop part suggestions

Video card: R9 280 3B
Case: Corsair 750D


I have been told Swiftech pumps are preferred. Laing D5 was recommended in another forum.

Alphacool UT60 360 radiator was recommended for the top of my 750D. I would like another radiator, I assume the front would be the preferred location?

CPU block I was recommended the Swiftech Apogee XL, but I would like a clear one to see the liquid in it if possible. Unless none are good...

Any suggestions/changes would be welcomed, I would prefer not to go broke on this, but no set budget. I want to best bang for my buck without breaking the bank.

Laing is the OEM manufacturer for Swiftech pumps. The Swiftech MCP655 is just re-badged Laing D5.

There are two variants of the D5 commonly used by water coolers:
D5 "vario" (for variable speed), which is the Swiftech MCP655
D5, which is the Swiftech MCP655-B, and lacks the RPM control knob.

There are number of other manufactures that use Laing D5's as well, so you will hear people on forums collectively refer them as just a "D5".

Yeah I believe the person who suggested the Laing D5 was referring to the MCP655.

swiftech does make reliable stuff.

The warrenty service is also great incase something happens to it, and its a manufactor defect.

However the warrenty condition on there stuff is quite strict.

eK, AquaComputers, Koolance, XSPC are also great vendors.

Watercooling has evolved a lot since the days i started, to the point where most are almost equal with each other. At this point i recommend you to go with what you think will look the nicest inside your PC.

Aquacomputers, XSPC, Koolance also make the D5.
Koolance even has a D5 - Strong version if flow and head pressure are important to you.


Personally i am a fan of koolance blocks.
I have used Koolance GPU blocks for 3 generations, and i will continue to use them unless they start to lose quality, which they havent.
