DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHICH AMD FILES TO UNINSTALL FOR CUSTOM
SO i DONT REMOVE CHIPSET DRIVERS BUT DO GET RID OF ATI DRIVER:awe:

Can you begin the custom installation to bring up that screen with all the checkbox options, and take a screenshot to post here? That way we can see all the descriptions of each option for you, and know which is which.

Click VGA drivers or Radeon drivers, forgot exactly which one it is.

Haha, I remember the first time I accidentally removed all the chipset drivers when trying to remove the display driver from an Nforce board. Good times, good times.

Based on my very recent experience, it's the driver install that gets you. I followed the recommended steps, uninstalled everything and installed the complete driver package. Beta driver. End result, after going to sleep, my second hard drive would not wake up. A system restore resolved the problem, but it took me a while to figure out it was the Catalyst drivers. So I did a custom uninstall, but didn't see anything to indicate chipset drivers, however in the install there is a specific checkbox. Also, system restore is your friend, especially on Windows 8. Create a restore point first.(might do it automatically, but just to be safe) As an aside, it's my opinion that Windows 8 has the BEST recovery features to date. Solid as a rock.

amd app sdk is one
the other is usb drivers:wub:

if amd app sdk is only removal are you saying Im bound to lose chipset driver?

No you won't lose the chipset drivers. However, should you have made the mistake of using express uninstall and it uninstall ALL of your amd drivers, you can go to the page that I linked and you can get your chipset drivers back.🙂
