Custom S775 Mounting

Hey,

as soon as I got my new setup (switched from S939 to S775) I noticed that the way intel made their mounting system isn't really great. Especially with heavy coolers it all looks a little weak.
So I created my own mounting (replacing the plastic mounting).

As this was the 2nd time I did it (first time was a replacement for my Scythe Infinity) it all looks a little fishy and since I am not really a handy-man I did it on my own way.

Hopefully some of you get ideas from it and might enjoy better temperatures. I didn't want to do the whole mounting again, so I used the stock intel cooler and you will have to use your imagination to visually create the motherboard. (yay crap english since I am dutch.)

I couldn't find a way to keep the plastic mounting alive, so I sort of killed it (you will see it in the movie).

Click for a video tutorial (my first ever so it sucks ^.^)

Idle temps on 3.2GHz (E6750) 17 and 20
Orthos (CPU) load temps on 3.2GHz (E6750) 36 and 37
On 3.6GHz I get 23 idle, 45 on load - on 3.8 I get 26 idle, 49 on load.

I like what you did there! I'm not a big fan of the factory mounting tabs either so your videos definitely gave me some ideas!

Side Note: Don't you have to add 15C to your current temps to get an accurate reading since you have a G0 stepping CPU?

Hey,

CoreTemp fixes that issue. Using TAT/Everest/Speedfan I was below zero sometimes on 3.2GHz

i still have a hard time with those temps you have...don't forget to mention you keep the room 20C!
