Custom Resolutions in NFSU2?

I have a WUXGA screen and the highest resolution I can choose is 1024x768. I would like to be able to use at least a wide screen resolution, is this possible?

I would also like to know. It plays real well on my eMachines m6809, it would be nice to get it to run at 1280x800 instead of 1024x768.
