Has anyone had it done at this place? Lifetime Enhancements are included, so it has caught my eye. I guess Tiger Woods had it done at this place, so it can't be too bad :p

I'm looking for some insight on price, and overall impressions.

I went there for consultation. They seem good. They trying to sell me on wavefront lasik. How much did they offer that to you? They offered to me for $4600.

My friend went to TLC and has had no problems. He loves it.

I decided not to go to them because when I went to the initial consultation they seemed rushed and only interested in how much they were going to charge me. I ended up going to Saddleback where they gave me many pre-authorization tests. They actually said I wasn't a candidate for the wavefront procedure which TLC said they were more than happy to do for $1k.

Also, my friend says that in order to qualify for the lifetime updates you have to have a steady eye prescription for at least two years. And like I said, he still loves his results from TLC.

I think the cost for lasik or anything depends where you live. Here in the bay area the average cost for standard lasik is from 2k-3.6k and wavefront from 3k - 5k. I have talked to a friend in Oklahoma, and she got lasik for like 1.4k. Too bad the standard of living here is soooo high.

About the 'lasik@home', surely there is a way to reuse that thing with a different prescription. It probably has something to do with opening it up and callibrating the laser.

I'm going in for a free consultation on Thursday. What's the ballpark price these days for Custom Lasik or Intralase?

Anyone know a good site for reputable local LASIK centers?

I live in PHX and a co-worker of mine recently had it done, but he had to drive all the way out to Tuscon for it. I'm not driving that far for an eye exam, and I seriously doubt I can convince someone to drive me there and back, possibly more than once depending on how the surgery goes. Phoenix/AZ is a big city, I'm pretty certain there's places a lot closer than Tuscon.

Well I went to the free consultation today, and they ran a battery of tests on my eyes. They said my cornea was thin, but I was still a candidate. And, of course, they recommended the highest form of treatment (Custom Lasik + IntraLase). Even with my health insurance discount, the cost came out to $2625 per eye (!!!!). That's a little too rich for my blood, so I'm going to continue to look around. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lasik center in massachusetts?

I've always found the idea of bargain shopping for lasik to be both hilarious and scary.

Hi doctor nick!

I had a co-worker in Phx who got hers done at Barnet, Dulaney, Perkins and was very happy. I almost got it done there but moved a few months ago.

did they give reasons to getting their most expensive procedure?

They told me because my cornea was on the thin side, which could lead to halos and glare, this would be the recommended method for me. They also said it promotes faster healing and less dryness post-op. I'll definitely go to other places to get some other opinions.

Yeah, definitely get some more opinions. I had mine done at lasikplus, and I would recommend them. I didn't have any complications so in that regards I can't vouch for how they handle it. I believe my price was 1299 per eye, or 1499 per eye, I forget.

I had PRK done about 5-6 years ago and halo/glare (mainly at night) were considered a side effect/risk for everyone having the procedure.

Did you get the regular or custom lasik?
