custom hotkeys all gone whacky?

Kind of a weird thing going on here...started sometime yesterday. All the custom hotkeys I had setup for certain applications (Winamp, VLC, and ATI CCC) all stopped working correctly. They all still showed up in the application's options, but they didn't do anything when pressed. I restarted and still had the same problem. So, I went into winamp and reset everything in the program to default, saved it, then went back and put in all my customary global hotkeys... but still, it's not working. Very odd for this all to happen at the same time :x - Any ideas? I think my apps are playing an april fool's day prank on me.
 
Several different apps at once eh... something wrong with the keyboard itself? Some software you installed is intercepting keystrokes? Someone has done something to your machine?
 
Well I'm starting to think it was a NumLock issue. I never really learned what NumLock does (only been using computers for 15 years...I'll figure it out someday), but it wasn't on like it usually is.
