antec had one as well called the skeleton I think. when i seen it initially I thought that it would be prefect for an open test bench. but when they released it I was not working retail anymore and did not need it.
Plus now it looks like antec does not sell it any more
The HAF is nice, but if you wanted a more accessible test bench type case then I always thought of the Aerocool Strike-X Air when I thought of pre-built test bench/open air case.
Start with something like this. http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata..._info&cPath=130_210_750_753&products_id=36415
How are your fab skills? myself I'd use hardwood to elevate this to have a disc burner, power supply and hard drives secured underneath. It is big enough to attach fan mounts, vid card support or any other hardware as needed.
I'd go with the Lian Li offering. It really does look great in person and just looks overall much more professional than using a plastic or acrylic case.
Another plus is the Lian Li case is made of gorgeous aluminum; when you are done with the case, you can use the aluminum like I did on other PC projects. I used a few panels to do some cool hobby projects.
