then keep your settings on "don't show avatars" or however they say it

Where would that option be markuskidd?

Go to "customize:"

If you are on a slow connection, choose the Standard Graphics mode to decrease download times.
(Standard mode will remove all graphics, such as emotion icons and tags, from the messages. Some functionality icons will remain.)

I haven't seen any emoticons or avatars since my first week here.

as if. I like this board cause of the proffesional feel of it. If everyone can have those crazy gif things, it'd feel like a sh!tty VBB board, or whatever they called

Hell no. I hate the way most forums look with weird pixalized avatars and stuff, i like the way it looks here, so I voted no.

I'm partially illiterate, so custom avatars would help me tell different members' posts apart.

Not at all. It would cause too many problems.
On a forum this big that grows this fast, it will be nearly impossible to find and moderate inappropriate avatars -which would easily be a problem, considering what little problems we have running rampant on the forums. Since people here seem to take advantage of every little situation they can when it comes to bending the rules, why open AT up for further abuse?
