CUSL2 Bios up grade from 1003 to 1007, help needed !

Hello i have a cusl2 board with bios vr 1003 and i disable the plug and play feature for the operating system win 2000, i was told that win 2000 would ignore the bios IRQ setting but asus bios update vr 1007 said that it would fix the IRQ setting and reserve IRQ 5 for the audio card, because my audio, video, acpi, ethernet card and usb host controller uses IRQ 9. If win 2000 ignore these setting why upgrade ? could you help me, did you upgrade your bios and did it work ?
