CUSL2 1002 BIOS Removal

1. Did ASUS remove it because of people who don't keep themselves informed and couldn't get it to POST after flash?

2. What the hell is this about the file on the ftp being corrupted? A BIOS isn't exactly a play thing -- if there was a CRC error with the file AFLASH should have gotten an exception, and/or the BIOS would be reacting sporadically.

3. You know, I still love this board, but between the issues that Intel is trying to solve with the 815E and Asus' BIOS issues -- well, I'm getting a bit .. antsy.

If they find something horribly wrong, I wonder if they'll do a recall... or just let us float on faulty treads...

AHHHH, I just flashed my motherboard to 1002 and everything went smooth as silk. But now that Asus removed the bios, I am scared and was wondering what exactly is wrong with this bios revision? The temp is fixed which is the main reason i flashed to this bios. I didnt have to short or pull out the battery either for the bios to go successfully, all i needed was a reboot. Should I revert back to 1001A or keep 1002? Thx for your advice in advance.

Hummm... I stuck with 1001.a just because I had heard so much about stability issues and other problems... My only problem (other than the cold boot boo boo) was the temp reading and the new ASUS probe fixed that little problem, I can live with the cold boot fubar... Till they get it right I`m hang`in...

You can always try the newer 1003.001 beta BIOS. Seems that it is better than 1002 for overclocking, and doesn't seem to be subject to some of the problems that 1002 is.

1002 was probably pulled because so many people had problems with the flash. If ASUS had only mentioned that the CLRTC had to be shorted or something, then it would save people a lot of grief and returned boards.

Remember the same thing happened with the P3V4X 1004 BIOS being pulled because people didn't know that the Byte Merge option had to be disabled in the BIOS before flashing.

yup, agree with bartman,the new asus probe fix the cpu temperature, so far the 1001.a bios seem good for me

seemed like 1001a overclocked better and also lets me run at agp4x so, good thing i saved my original stock bios and i just reflashed back from 1002. stability forevever!
