Just looking at a picture of that screen is annoying. Trying to watch it would not be entertaining at all.

Unless you're three inches in front of it to get that "surround" feel...no.

Nice for conventions though.

Only useful if the screen stretches at the edges of your peripheral vision.

Weird. For women, the curved ones are usually cheaper. If you aren't feeding them too that is.

Curved and 3d don't matter, but, the black levels and contrast of OLED are HUGELY better than regular crappy LCD.

I'd pay a 50-100% premium for LED black level and contrast vs regular LED backlit LCD.

I bought a 26 inch widescreen lcd TV for $2000.00 at BB. After less than a month I decided that was too much to pay, repacked it, and got my money back.

It'll be around $500 in 10 or less years.

Probably more like 5-7 years. I remember a few years ago when I was salivating over a 32" LCD 720p for $1,199 during BF.

In retrospect, I'm glad I waited since you can buy them now for $249-ish.

Is there an advantage to curved screens? I've never really heard of them before.

Make sure you are wearing those High Def sunglasses when watching this.

Why sunglasses? what, it there's no sun? HD sunglasses? I see everything HD - as much as human eye 20/20 can see...
Technology won't make people to see anything better....

In fact....Technology will make people blind - Iphone texting will leave people blind....and many, who're now young, will need 1/2' thick eyeglasses pretty soon.....

Technology won't make people to see or to hear more...unless it's a robot....

What do you guys reckon?

Seems way too over the top imo. I've never felt that my flat plasma screen wasn't doing my viewing distance an injustice that the outer edges of the screen weren't exactly the same distance to me :p

Who is going to get this? It'll really annoy people who are sitting off centre as well.

I think maybe it has a tiny bit of merit, but the real reason is sales - 3D isn't selling anymore - ESPN & BBC are dropping their 3D broadcasts - so they need something new to sell. It's like $549 for a nice 55" LED TV these days, so it's not out of the price range of most people to get a nice HD 1080p set. 4K will come at some point, but not anytime soon. Most people are still happy with DVD quality.

I sometimes shoot a 190" image with my projector on a flat wall. No curve, still looks great to me.
