Summary of their article:

- Lower reflectance, requiring lower brightness for the same legibility
- Less glossy (same benefit as above, but via a different method)
- Small improvement in privacy

I passed off the Round as a gimmick, but I'm actually curious to check it out, especially in bright lights. AMOLEDs have traditionally struggled in sunlight due to their lower brightness, though the Note 3 has gotten much better by having very low reflectance and decent brightness.

Yeah sure reminds me the Nokia banana days where having a curve phone was the thing to have to look cool

It sounds like Samsung didn't intend for this. I'd imagine Samsung would have trumpeted it as a feature all over if they did.

I guess these kind of serendipitous discoveries are nice.
