Curved Monitor...yes or no

How many of you have experience with curved monitors? And would you recommend getting one? I believe wholeheartedly that for TVs, curved is a gimmick, but I'm not sure about on a PC. And I'm more interested in 2550x1440 curved, but that doesn't seem to be available, does anyone know why? Thanks for reading!

Because curved displays are more noticeable on ultrawide aspect ratio displays. 2560x1080 or 3440x1440 21:9 aspect ratio monitors should be somewhat easy to find curved panels.

16:9 is simply not wide enough to get much benefit out of curving the panel, though there are still a few 1920x1080p curved panels out there.

That's what I was starting to think. Do you wish you had 1 or 2 ultra wide curved monitors, or are you happy with flat panels?

I am happy with my setup as it is.

I don't do all that much gaming (hence only a GTX 960), so most of what I am doing is multi-tasking where the 2nd monitor is better. Curved just wouldn't add anything useful for me personally. Especially not with my desk configuration. I could see some niche situations where it might be desirable though.

Have a 29" 2560 X 1080 Dell wide screen extended to an old 47" Olevia 747i.

Paying extra for a curved screen just seems a gimmick to me. I doubt I'd see a advantage to using one myself.

I'd probably dislike a curved screen at that size myself.

my curved experience is with the lg flex phone. It has its wow moments, but I think the distortions it brings to movies and games that are unintended will ultimately make it undesirable. It is kind of like reworking your music through a complete spectrum equalizer, you may like the sound you hear more, but it isn't what was intended by the creators.

I'm using a Dell U3415W 3440x1440. I don't think I can ever go back to a regular monitor for my main rig.

I'm running a HP Envy 34c curved monitor in its native 3440x1440 and I will never go back to a flat panel ever again. I love having three different windows open side by side for productivity work and for the first time ever I can have a massive spreadsheet open and see the entire thing without having to constantly scroll it from side to side which is annoying when entering data. The curving makes reading text at the edges of the display much easier and is something that I don't ever want to be without again. If you've got a best buy near you go into the store and look at them in person.

It all depends on how you plan to use your PC. I have two 24" monitors side by side and for me, that is perfect. I can drag windows between them, have music or monitoring app's open on my left screen while gaming or doing whatever on my main monitor. I can have site or reference material on one screen while working on the other. For me, two monitors is perfect. But for someone who games a lot or does certain other cases of productivity work (or likes to brag), a huge superwide curved monitor would be perfect. Just look at what you plan to do with your PC and decide from there.

Flat for work.

Can't work on curved. For most games curved is ok-ish. Except for vertical Pinball screen... no no-no...
