My wife just called me to let me know that I have to take my son to a birthday party at that special little hellhole called Chuck E Cheese this weekend (she's on bedrest). God I can't stand that place. I get a giant migraine just thinking about it.

I look at the employees of Chuck E Cheese like I would look at small puppy at a pound - Full of pity but not able to anything.

I better go to Sam's and get that industrial sized bottle of asprin...

only thing left to do is cut loose and play. thats the only thing that keeps me sane when i take my children to the asylum.

I haven't been there in a long time, but I loved some of their arcade racing games since I was young, might not be that bad

The one bright side of that is that at least you can buy beer there.

Gee....I wonder why they serve that! 😀

Why is it a virtual hell on wheels? It's just pizza and entertainment.

For a birthday party on a Saturday, Chuck E Cheese turns into a hellhole. Noisy. Kids running around everywhere. Heavily disgruntled staff. Etc, etc.

exactly, long ago I learned if I couldn't beat them, then I would join them. I give the kids a bunch of tokens and off they go. I get some free time to talk to the wife, then I go play some games myself. Plus, CEC is the only place adults can get in the tubes.

I love to do that at Dave & Busters...just can't stand CEC. My wife and I have already agreed not to do a birthday party at CEC for our son...EVER. We're doing a birthday party at our house for our son for one more year (he turns 3 in April) and then we'll be mixing it up by having parties at different places or at home.

Yep - off-peak times Chuckie's can be alot of fun. But peak times it is god-awful. Especially the birthday table area - the tables are crammed so close together you can hardly walk between them, then pack it with kids. Finally, the last time I was at the one in Colorado Springs, it seamed like half the stuff in the arcade was out of order.

The times I've been to the one here it wasn't so bad. Then again, we've got Family Fun Center which has waaay more stuff, so a lot of people probably end up going there.

It isn't all that bad, as long as there aren't tons of kids around. If you get there when it's empty, Chuck E Cheese's is basically an arcade with food.
