Well, that is a good point about not following up. But even if the wood is from previous explorations, that would be pretty impressive.
Damn, tonight's episode was really awful. They seem to really be reaching to keep this show alive. They had this guy on who thinks the Aztecs buried gold on the island. Most of his theories didn't even make any sense so either this guy was a troll or he has a very vivid imagination.
They did however revisit the bore hole from last season where they found oak timbers at 140 some feet. They send a sonar probe down and didn't find jack. So at least they're attempting to follow up on some of this stuff. But it's starting to feel . . . maybe not manufactured but really reaching to try to fill air time.
I only learned the hole over from this thread and did some reading, my take is as long as the hole and "five fingers drain" is real it deserve the attention it is getting. Who/what is capable to dig should a 200' hole 200+ years ago with no trace of settlement?
"Some years ago, a man and his son were scalloping off Oak Island, which sees them hang a rake-like object off the back of their boat," said Pulitzer. "When they brought this up, the sword came up with it. They thought they were going to get into trouble due to restrictions in Nova Scotia which made all private shipwreck diving for treasure outlawed. So they freaked out about it."The man passed the sword on to his wife when he died and then from there it went to his daughter before eventually ending up in the hands of her husband who decided to come forward with it.According to Pulitzer, the sword's metallic properties match those of genuine Roman weapons and the shipwreck from which it allegedly came still remains untouched at the bottom of the sea."We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is Roman," he said. "I think this is the single most important discovery for the Americas - an event that will re-write history."
I saw this article earlier today. No one stopped to think that maybe someone brought it later that wasn't a roman? Sounds like a play to get more interest.

Since the show is about digging on Oak Island, can't tell if this is double entendre.Whenever I think "reality TV" has hit rock bottom, they keep digging.
