Hey guys and gals i was wondering if someone can help me out, i recently got a new sony viao laptop and was wondering if i can dual boot with a 32 bit windows xp pro on my vista 64 bit.

Is it possible for me to install xp on an external HD rather than partition the current HD thats Vista 64 is on? I had tried installing it on the external but it just gave me the blue screen of death! Is there something i need to change in bios? I would really like to just have the xp pro on another HD... I tried it on another computer that has vista 32bit and it'll go through the whole setup.

If the external HD is causing the blue screen, than my last choice would be to partition my current HD and install xp 32 on it, would that seem to work?

p.s i have been following instructions from apcmag.com

Thanks for your help!

You cannot install any Windows OS onto an external USB HD yet. MS seemingly has intentionally coded against that possibility.
