I am happy with my computer's performance as I rarely game anymore. I was originally thinking of adding 2GB(1GBx2) of RAM and replacing my 1GB(512GBx2) RAM. Now, I am wondering if I should add 2GB on top of my 1GB to have a total of 3GB of RAM. Since it will be 4 sticks, it will not run at 1T. Not dual channel. Need your opinions/suggestions. Thanks.

just cause you have 4 sticks doesn't mean you won't be in dual channel. have the 2 512's paired and the 2 one gig sticks paired with each other

go with the 2x1gb configuration. you're not going to use more than 2gb so why have the extra ram? just sell it

:thumbsup:This is a good idea, you can probably get around $40 for quality used RAM, and you can put it towards this. Even if you don't game, this high performance memory will give you reat overall performance in your system. Its a steal at $152 shipped after MIR at zipzoomfly.

why add anything? are you going over 1GB? going 2GB if you are not exceeding 1GB is a total waste of $$$ as it will not be utilized.

Yes I have 2x512GB's of Crucial Ballistix that are rated at 2-2-2-5. As said before, I probably don't need to upgrade to 2GB as I rarely game. But if I do sell these, it would sell for a decent amount. I'll probably stick with this setup until I actually have use for 2GB. Thanks for your time. Hmm, maybe I need a hard drive lol. Have had this system for about 7 months now and looking for things to upgrade. Can't think of any.
